BEST SPECIAL ISSUE 1982-83
The journal Studies in Romanticism, edited by David Wagenknecht (Boston University), won the award for Best Special Issue of the academic year 1982-83 given by the Conference of Editors of Learned Journals. The fall 1982 issue was Romantic Texts, Romantic Times: Homage to David V. Erdman, guest-edited by Morris Eaves (University of New Mexico). The contents of the issue included essays by Norman O. Brown, Kenneth Neill Cameron, Northrop Frye, Robert Langbaum, and Ronald Paulson with subsections on “Inside the Blake Industry: Past, Present, and Future” (ed. Eaves, contributors Hazard Adams, Morris Eaves, David V. Erdman, Robert N. Essick, Robert Gleckner, John E. Grant, Nelson Hilton, Karl Kroeber, W.J.T. Mitchell, Morton D. Paley, and Joseph Viscomi); on “Coleridge: The Politics of the Imagination” (ed. Carl Woodring, contributors Jerome Christensen, Michael Fischer, Raimonda Modiano, R.F. Storch, and Carl Woodring) and “Some Romantic Texts: Reviews” (ed. Donald H. Reiman, contributors James H. Averill, John Barnard, Frederick L. Beaty, Doucet Devin Fischer, Donald H. Reiman, E.J. Rose, Elinor Shaffer, and Jack Stillinger). Publication of the issue was supported in part by a grant from the Carl H. Pforzheimer Foundation.
