Essick Collection Exhibited
The Grolier Club, New York, presented an exhibition of Blake’s book illustrations from 25 March through the end of May. All works were from the collection of Robert N. Essick. The exhibit centered on the engraved book illustrations designed and executed by Blake, but also included reproductive graphics, a small selection of early facsimiles of the illuminated books, and the recently rediscovered copy h of Songs of Innocence and of Experience. The exhibition was not open to the public.
